Great question! Here’s how our refillable candles are unlike anything else on the market:
Reusable candle vessel
Most candles, like glass or concrete ones, are not designed to be reused (and can even shatter after repeated use). Candles are also really difficult to clean and upcycle. But not ours! Our patented refillable candle has a unique flexible silicone base that makes it super easy to pop out leftover wax and reuse the jar. In fact, we were the first to use silicone in a candle vessel back in 2020! Our innovative refillable candle vessel is heat-resistant and designed to be reused over and over again ♻️
Clean ingredients
Unlike many traditional candles on the market, our candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and non-toxic fragrances. You can breathe clean with our candles in your home! ✨

🌿 INGREDIENTS
We use all-natural soy wax and cotton wicks, and all of our scents are 100% phthalate-fee, non-toxic, and cruelty-free.

We use 100% natural soy wax and non-toxic ingredients so technically all of our scents are safe for pets! However, it's important to understand that some animals are more sensitive to certain essential oils, spices, and citrus scents than others.
When a scent contains essential oils known to potentially cause sensitivity in pets (such as ylang ylang, anise, pennyroyal, tea tree, pine, wintergreen, etc) if ingested, we clearly call out these ingredients in the scent description - out of an abundance of caution (as ideally no pets would be ingesting candle wax). Here are some candle scents we recommend for pet owners!
To ensure both safety and a pleasant experience, we create our candles using a blend of natural essential oils and non-toxic fragrance oils. This blend offers a few key benefits:
- Fire Safety: Essential oils are highly flammable.Diluting them with fragrance oils reduces this risk.
- Health Considerations: By using a blend, we avoid overly concentrated essential oils, which can be irritating to pets (especially if ingested) and individuals with sensitivities like migraines, asthma, and allergies.
For pets such as birds or reptiles, we recommend exercising extreme caution and not lighting candles in the same room as your pets. These animals have particularly sensitive respiratory systems, and even diluted fragrance can cause irritation.
While we take precautions, it's always best to observe your pet's reaction to any new scent. If you have any concerns or specific questions about our ingredients, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to help!
We use 100% natural soy wax, organic cotton wicks, and non-toxic, clean scents.
All of our fragrances are 100% phthalate-free and do not include any reproductive toxins, carcinogens, mutagens, organ toxins, or acute toxins.
We use a combination of natural essential oils and clean candle fragrance oils in our candles. Send us an email ([email protected]) if you have specific questions!
Unfortunately many candle companies out there, big and small, still use toxic fragrances and wax in their candles. This is one of the reasons we decided to start making our own candles! Everyone should be able to enjoy the wonderful experience of a candle without harming their health.
💗 CANDLE CARE
We recommend burning the candles for around 4 hours each time. Not lighting the candle long enough can cause tunneling, and burning the candle over 4-5 hours can become a safety issue. Learn more in our full Candle Care Guide 😊
To help ensure when you first light your candle that it achieves a full melt pool, we do not recommend trimming the wick the first time. After the first burn melts all the way to the edges, you can (and should) trim the wick every time after that! :)
We recommend either composting the wax (as it is made of 100% plant-based soy wax and natural cotton wicks), melt the extra wax in a wax warmer, or put it in a cloth bag and use as a drawer freshener!
Candle soot (the black marks) can be unsightly but common issue with burning candles regularly. Though household products like dish soap, lemon juice, or baking soda can somewhat help, they are not perfect solutions to clean off soot.
Fortunately we have developed our own jar cleaner that cleans up soot marks better than any product we've tested, ensuring your candle jar remains clean and presentable! Our all-natural Candle Jar Cleaner is made from water and orange peel concentrate - so it is a nontoxic way to clean your Arbor Made reusable candle vessel.
A full candle melt pool = even burning, stronger fragrance, and longer lasting! Here's how:
- First Burn: Let the wax melt all the way to the edge (typically 3-4 hours). But don't burn more than 5 hours at a time for safety reasons.
- Before Each Burn: Trim the wick (to 1/4 inch) if is too long or mushrooming. Do not trim the wick on the first burn! This is the most important burn to make sure you get the full melt pool.
- Consistent Burn Time: Always burn until the melt pool reaches the edges. If you plan to light a candle, try to leave it lit for at least a couple hours so it can fully melt to the edges every time. This prevents tunneling.
- Draft Control: Keep your candle away from drafts, windows, and air currents.
If you're still having issues, try out the "Tin Foil Hack" for candle tunneling!
Tunneling happens when a candle burns only down the center, leaving a thick wax ring around the sides. Here's how to use tin foil to fix it:
- Create a foil tent: Tear off a piece of tin foil and mold it into a loose tent shape. The tent should cover the entire candle but leave an opening at the top for air circulation.
- Light and relax: Light the candle as usual and let the foil tent do its magic. The trapped heat will melt the wax on the sides of the candle, filling in the tunnel.
- Monitor and adjust: Check on the candle after 30 minutes. If the wax isn't melting evenly, adjust the foil tent slightly for better heat distribution.
- Patience is key: Depending on the tunnel's severity, it may take 1-2 hours to achieve a full wax pool.
Safety Tips:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Ensure the foil doesn't touch the flame.

All our shipping materials are entirely paper-based (FSC Certified), making them 100% compostable and recyclable. Even our tape is compostable!
Standard processing time is 2-3 business days.
Holiday Period:
During the holidays (Nov & Dec), our processing time is about 1-2 weeks due to increased demand.
Summer Months:
During the summer months (Jun, July, Aug), we only ship out orders at the beginning of the week.

We understand that sometimes packages marked "delivered" can go missing. Here's what you can do:
- Double-check around your delivery location. Did a neighbor receive it accidentally? Look around porches, doorways, or anywhere a delivery person might leave it securely.
- Still can't find it? Contact us! Just confirm your address is correct, and we'll gladly send a replacement order as soon as possible. We're here to make things right, so don't hesitate to reach out! 😀
